Well writ­ten tale of bat­tle­grounds by my good buddy Vit­a­min W of Swan actu­ally not suck­ing the bat­tle­grounds (As she only does when he runs her). Enjoy the show!

TAG: not porn but funny

Swan buried her dag­ger deep in the last orc’s back, then grabbed the hilt and kicked him for­ward off of it, dead, then instinc­tively faded
into the shad­ows. There. Now their con­voy could carry the Horde flag safely into the tun­nel and win these stu­pid lit­tle wargames their
Warchief had set up in lieu of a REAL bat­tle, and she could.… wait.

Look­ing across the Gulch, she saw some blond, blood elf trol­lop hunter dash­ing with their own blue flag. She jumped and did a lit­tle
pirou­ette as she ran into their own tun­nel, com­pletely unop­posed by any of the mer­ce­nar­ies the Grand Alliance had hired to fight this
lit­tle proxy war. The pay was ok for some­one in between jobs like she was, but it didn’t
exactly lure the most élite free­lance tal­ent in the land.

“Come on guys! I can’t be every­where!” she yelled, not tak­ing into
account that she was now an invis­i­ble, dis­em­bod­ied voice com­ing from
a low lau­relthorn bush. “Let’s go kill that elf and get the flag
back.” She put two fin­gers to her lips and gave a shrill whis­tle. Her
faith­ful win­ter­saber proved that occa­sion­ally a cat actu­ally will
come when called, deftly swung a leg over and was rid­ing full speed
towards the makeshift orcish lum­ber mill/fortress thing.

To her amaze­ment, a hand­ful of mer­ce­nar­ies actu­ally fol­lowed her
rather than run­ning around lost, as was the ten­dency for the “tal­ent“
hired into these bat­tles. She had been assigned to a pla­toon of
mer­ce­nar­ies who, like her­self, weren’t quite ready to make the trip to
Out­lands. Still, it wasn’t her fault she hadn’t got­ten around to the
mil­i­tary train­ing like dag­ger­play and dodg­ing and fly­ing. There were
just so many pretty side quests to try out on the way… some of them
sin’dorei…

She looked over her shoul­der and saw a rugged my not entirely
unhand­some night elf war­rior on another saber, and a scrappy dwarvish
hunter on one of those goat things. Since she had rid­den off first,
they appeared to think she was the leader or some­thing. She blushed
at that thought. I just want to stab peo­ple and get paid! she
thought. But appar­ently the diplo­mats argu­ing the Ashen­vale issue got
more favor­able terms in the ongo­ing lum­ber nego­ti­a­tions if their side
won more in these war games. some­thing about the same bat­tle savvy
apply­ing to a real war should one break out, while spar­ing both sides
the actual sol­diers for an Alterac-sized con­flict while Northrend
loomed large. The bot­tom line was they all got bet­ter ben­e­fits if
they won. They’d win more if some­one would lead, or at least fake it
a lit­tle bit.

“So, uh, we go in as a team, find that elf wench, and kill her together.”

“Yup.”

“Right.”

So far so good.

They dis­mounted and ran into the cen­ter of the enemy court­yard. Nothing.

Where?! They had to be around somewhere.

Swan scanned the area with keen elvish eyes and saw a flut­ter of move­ment. “The roof! They’re on the roof!”
